What awaits…

I often think of infinity in terms of time stretching on forever, but within infinity there really is no such thing as time.  In the infinite time is rolled up into an instant leaving space for many other things to extend to infinity within that infinite moment!

Oh Lord, here in this world pure change and growth are free while everything else feels oppressed within the finite bounds of spacetime, but in an instant our chains will be loosed and our souls will fly free.  I pray that what awaits in that instant is for our souls to explode forth with infinite Love, Praise and Glory for You! Prepare us, Oh Lord, for the infinite moment that awaits us all.

Habakkuk 2:14
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Peter 1:3
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.

Connected

I think deep down we all know that we are somehow connected whether we acknowledge this or not.  The connection isn’t immediately visible in this world, and yet many of us feel it and know that it is there.  Those who have accessed this deep knowledge in times of silence or brokenness or even great joy, experienced this connection and wanted to share it with everyone and thus many creations and inventions have been born from what we know within, spoken and written languages, roads, art, books, mail, morse code, televisions, telephones, and now the internet – connecting our whole world.

Yet – anything we create here is a simplistic, broken and eventually a corrupt copy of what truly exists, what is real yet invisible!

Let us use our inventions to spread LOVE despite their brokenness, but let us NOT allow them to overshadow the true and real connection that is buried deep within each of us – you will find it in the SILENT and INFINITE DEPTH of each PRESENT MOMENT.  Within each moment it waits to be discovered – a buried treasure whispering to us – Come, come and see!

Matthew 13:44-46
The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.

God’s Art

In the last few years I have begun to develop an appreciation and love for visual art.  I was walking through a museum a few years ago when a light bulb suddenly went off in my head as I realized what billions before me already knew… each painting represented a moment in the life of a soul.  That day I saw that some had shared a moment of their pain, others had shared a moment of their joy, some shared a moment of their fear, and at least one had shared a moment of deep understanding, a moment when that soul dove into the infinity of their present moment and then translated it onto a canvas.

I cried that day as I walked through the museum feeling humbled and amazed by so many souls laid bare before me.

Tonight as I was reading the book Crazy Love by Francis Chan, he wrote about God’s art throughout creation and interestingly enough I read about this a few weeks ago in Romans during a bible study.  Oh Lord please forgive my inability to quickly grasp what You are trying to tell me… tonight I think Your message finally broke through.

God has bared His soul before us… and oh how AMAZING it is!!!

What more is there to say other than – Thank You, thank You, thank You for the Grace to truly see Your Art, Your Heart, Your Soul!

AMAZED

My mind is a jumble of thoughts as I think of infinity buried in a point where everything on the inside is bigger than what is on the outside, and how difficult it is to wrap my earthly mind around this, as I look at the night sky and feel infinitesimally small, but then attempt to accept or believe or have faith that there is something or some place so much bigger buried and hidden from us in a point, in a second, in a planck length.

And then I am AMAZED to the point of tears with an aching joy in my heart knowing that somehow, mysteriously this is TRUE…

Every moment is infinite

It is so amazing to me that as you try to find the smallest unit of time between two seconds, you reach infinity.  Most of us always think of infinity as so big, vast and unimaginable, and often forget that it is also so tiny, minute and almost invisible!

I think this is why so many stress the need to live in the present moment!  They know that by living in each present moment we have an opportunity to live in infinity.  When we live in the past or the future, we skim the surface of each moment instead of diving down into the the infinity of the moment.

Be still, be quiet, listen, see it, touch it, understand it, and realize that the infinite is available to everyone and can be reached and felt and understood by everyone in every moment.

We all probably know someone who lives most of their life within the infinity of the present moment.  We are drawn to them, and see it in their eyes, but they can’t take us there, they can only show it to us.  In order to meet them there, we must take our own path diving down deep into the infinity of our moments.

Lord please still and silence our bodies, hearts, minds ,and souls so that we might commune with You within each infinite moment!

Maybe our universe is like a bubble?

Last week I watched some documentaries about the universe and I must admit I love them!  I saw one that reminded me of the fact that our universe is still expanding and is now expanding at a faster rate than it did just after it’s birth.  I find this so interesting, amazing, strange and difficult to understand.

As I was watching a few days ago, I was thinking a lot about bubbles!  Maybe our universe is a like a bubble, a little piece of something that is where it doesn’t belong.

Imagine a bubble rushing towards the water’s surface.  As it rises, it expands, and as it expands it rises faster, causing it to expand even more and then rise even faster.  I am not a fluid dynamics expert, but I think this is correct at a very high level.

Now imagine that our universe is this bubble rushing through a substance where it doesn’t belong, and maybe as it is approaching a surface the surrounding pressure is decreasing which would explain why our universe is expanding faster than before.  If so… what do you think will happen when our bubble finally reaches the unknown surface?  Will it BURST?

If so, then I hope when our bubble bursts we will finally find ourselves where we do belong, in the singularity (the point where a function takes an infinite value) of GOD!

Who is in the way?

I joined a gym recently and a few weeks ago I took a body combat class.  It was a great class, but I didn’t like focusing on an imaginary opponent.

About halfway through the class I decided that my opponents would be some of my own personal vices.  With each punch or kick I focused on pushing out things I don’t like about myself and then tried breathing in virtues I would like to replace them with.

By the end of class it finally hit me…

Imagine standing in a room surrounded by mirrors.  As the mirrors reflect back on each other their reflections go to infinity, but as you look you can only glimpse the edges of infinity because YOU are in the way.

I am my only obstacle.

The only way to truly follow our sweet Jesus is to get out of our own way, deny ourselves.

For every wrong done to us I think we need to recall a wrong that we have done to another and then suffer through that memory rather than stew over what has been done to us.  I don’t think it is easy and I think this is just the first step, but the only way to get anywhere is by taking the first step.

Jesus thank You for waiting so patiently to take this first step and every other step along the way by our sides!

Infinity is Awesome!

I was speaking with a friend this morning and I asked him if he truly believed it was possible for there to be a point in time where everyone in the world believed, “It is Our Best Life”.  His initial response was no.

My response to him and to all of you is to please not lose faith or hope.  If you consider infinity for a moment, the answer becomes a resounding YES.  With infinity anything is possible, and I believe with all of my heart that Our Best Life is possible and does exist!

Say it, live it, believe it and IT WILL BE!  It is Our Best Life!
