{"id":693,"date":"2013-11-20T00:17:11","date_gmt":"2013-11-20T06:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ourbestlife.org\/?p=693"},"modified":"2013-11-20T00:18:32","modified_gmt":"2013-11-20T06:18:32","slug":"seeking-the-sacred-within-the-secular","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ourbestlife.org\/?p=693","title":{"rendered":"Seeking the sacred within the secular&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am reading a book of the complete works of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Clare of Assisi, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/365893.Francis_and_Clare\">Francis and Clare: \u00a0The Complete Works<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In one the letters that Saint Francis wrote to the clergy, he quotes Corinthians 2:14,\u00a0<em>The person who does not have the spirit does not perceive the things of God.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I loved reading this today because I have been thinking about the sacred within our secular world versus the secular within His sacred world. \u00a0Is there a difference? \u00a0Can a strict line define sacred versus secular or are we the ones who have imposed this distinction?<\/p>\n<p>I have been trying to be a little more attentive to every song, every book, every discussion, every thought with the hope to perceive His message everywhere. \u00a0I think it is everywhere and I want to be still and listen.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus, please fill us with Your spirit so that we can perceive the things of God and realize that we are surrounded by Them&#8230; They are everywhere.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am reading a book of the complete works of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Clare of Assisi, Francis and Clare: \u00a0The Complete Works.
