{"id":1238,"date":"2016-01-27T10:03:30","date_gmt":"2016-01-27T16:03:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ourbestlife.org\/?p=1238"},"modified":"2016-01-27T10:20:18","modified_gmt":"2016-01-27T16:20:18","slug":"the-ancient-paths","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ourbestlife.org\/?p=1238","title":{"rendered":"The Ancient Paths"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just as impurities should\u00a0be removed from the original metals during the process of making an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.explainthatstuff.com\/alloys.html\">alloy<\/a>\u00a0to increase the strength and durability of the alloy (the new metal), our impurities should be cleansed and removed before He melts our hearts into one new heart through marriage.<\/p>\n<p>If our hearts are full of impurities, then how can we ever hope for our new heart to be strong. \u00a0These impurities\u00a0will cause our new heart to be brittle, weak, and easily damaged\u00a0requiring constant attention and surgical repair.<\/p>\n<p>Sweet Lord,\u00a0we have neglected the need to seek cleansing and purification through reflection, prayer, fasting and confession before the many celebrations of our lives, but most of all\u00a0before our marriages. \u00a0We have turned the time of engagement and preparation into yet another party rather a time of reflection, prayer and a time to seek You. \u00a0Please forgive us and help\u00a0us seek the ancient paths, where the good way lies.<\/p>\n<p>Jeremiah 6:16<br \/>\n<em>Thus says the Lord: \u00a0Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way lies;
